Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a key member of our ophthalmology department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for exams by accurately recording their medical history and performing visual acuity tests.
  • Assist ophthalmologists and clinical staff with procedures and tasks as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment, ensuring that all necessary supplies are available.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing professional development through continued certification and participation in educational opportunities.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a JCAHPO-approved program for ophthalmic assistance/technicians.
  • At least one year of experience as an ophthalmic assistant or tech.
  • Certification as an ophthalmic technician, with maintenance of certification requirements every 3 years.
