HVAC Estimator Job Description

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Estimator to join our team at GPAC, a leading recruitment company in the Mechanical industry. As an HVAC Estimator, you will play a crucial role in analyzing blueprints, specifications, and proposals to prepare accurate time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review data to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists.
  • Compute cost factors and prepare estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness.
  • Conduct special studies to increase cost-effectiveness of projects.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, and Department Managers to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
  • Cooperate with the Service and Departments on projects as assigned by the Installation Manager.
Requirements:
  • B.S. in Business, Statistics, or Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of two years' experience as an Estimator for an HVACR contracting or building-related services business.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Excellent oral communication skills and the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the general public.
  • Possession of all certificates, licenses, and registration that may be required to perform services in the jurisdiction where work will be conducted.
  • Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the job including, climb ladder, stoop, kneel, and crawl in confined spaces, talk, and hear.
  • Current (state) driver's license and the ability to drive all types of vehicles in the corporate fleet within 30 days of initial employment.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software and technology, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Company software used for estimating jobs.
