POSITION TITLE: Radiologic Imaging Support Specialist

MISSION STATEMENT:

POSITION SUMMARY:
  • Welcomes and prepares patients for radiographic procedures, providing assistance to the radiographer as necessary.
  • Engages in a variety of responsibilities that support departmental operations, including administrative and transport tasks.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in patient care is preferred. Candidates should have transporter experience or demonstrate the motivation and capability to learn additional skills to progress in this role.
  • Participation in orientation and ongoing education is essential to maintain expertise in specific areas.
  • Annual completion of competency assessments for populations served is required.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills along with excellent interpersonal abilities are essential.
  • Familiarity with imaging procedures, equipment, and their limitations is necessary.
  • Ability to anticipate the needs of technologists and patients independently.
  • Proficiency with imaging technology, digital imaging, and related quality control testing equipment is required.
  • Willingness to learn about biomedical electronic radiologic imaging, data entry, and hemodynamic monitoring.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS:
Office/Clinical setting. Exposure class I - Routine or potential exposure to blood, body fluids, excretions, or secretions. Occasional exposure to unpleasant physical conditions. Regular exposure to situations that could lead to moderate to serious injury or illness. Radiation exposure may occur during equipment testing.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Heavy work: includes pushing, pulling, walking, standing, and lifting.

WORK CONTACT GROUP:
Involves interaction with all services, employees, medical staff, patients, visitors, vendors, and various regulatory and professional agencies.

SUPERVISED BY:
Technologist/Supervisor

Pay Range: $16.70 - $24.20

Compensation is based on experience, skills, and education. The pay range may vary based on location.
