Overview
GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor or designee, the Custodial Technician is responsible for performing comprehensive cleaning and maintenance tasks within a facility or multiple facilities.
Responsibilities
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the facility, including patient rooms, operating rooms, emergency departments, and isolation areas.
- Ensure offices, laboratories, corridors, and other spaces are thoroughly cleaned.
- Perform floor care tasks such as cleaning, polishing, buffing, stripping, and refinishing.
- Wash windows, woodwork, restrooms, and fixtures to maintain hygiene standards.
- Dust and polish furniture in various settings.
- Manage carpet maintenance, including vacuuming and shampooing.
- Empty and sanitize waste receptacles.
- Assist in moving furniture as needed.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills when interacting with patients, visitors, and staff.
- Demonstrate initiative in problem-solving and adaptability in emergency situations.
- Complete assignments with minimal oversight while maintaining courteous interactions.
- Support colleagues as necessary.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Extensive knowledge of materials, equipment, and methods used in cleaning operations.
- Ability to operate and maintain cleaning equipment effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with patients and staff.
- Capability to follow both oral and written instructions accurately.
- Familiarity with cleaning supplies and their appropriate applications.

Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor or designee.

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Position requires considerable walking, standing, and physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds and the ability to reach and climb ladders. Must possess sufficient vision, hearing, and speech to perform tasks safely and effectively.
