Position Summary:

The Clinical Infusion Nurse plays a pivotal role in orchestrating nursing care, which encompasses direct patient interactions, education for patients and families, and facilitating smooth transitions of care. This position involves administering infusions on-site and supporting professional nursing practices across various settings to address the needs of patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer in-house infusions to a diverse patient population utilizing a range of infusible medications.
  • Conduct vital signs assessments, including height and weight measurements, and document findings in the electronic medical record.
  • Deliver care as outlined in the patient's individualized care plan.
  • Monitor patient conditions and promptly communicate any changes to the appropriate healthcare personnel.
  • Provide specialized nursing services that require advanced skills.
  • Guide patients and their families in addressing nursing and related needs.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Comprehensive understanding of nursing scope of practice and patient care standards.
  • Proficient in intravenous (IV) and infusion protocols and procedures.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and HIPAA privacy regulations.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Competence in using computers and various software applications, including Electronic Health Records (EHR), Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
  • Adept at managing multiple priorities and problem-solving.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure to achieve established objectives.
  • Commitment to maintaining high levels of professional integrity.
  • Capacity to represent the organization positively.

Education & Experience:

Current certification as a Registered Nurse (RN) is required. A minimum of two (2) years of RN experience utilizing electronic Health Records (EHR) is necessary, along with at least one (1) year of experience in intravenous (IV) and infusion practices.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

This role is situated within a healthcare environment. The position entails frequent sitting and computer usage, allowing for variations in physical position for comfort.

Physical demands include:

  • Standing for 40% or more of the workday.
  • Walking for 20% or more of the workday.
  • Sitting for 40% or more of the workday.
  • Repetitive hand use for tasks requiring simple grasping and fine manipulation.
  • All sensory skills (speech, vision, smell, touch, and hearing) should be corrected to near-normal range.
