Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Graphic Artist to join our team at the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for designing and producing a variety of graphic presentations and materials that effectively communicate our message to the public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement visual concepts and designs for brochures, newsletters, and other communication materials.
  • Create custom signage, forms, and stationery in both electronic and printed formats.
  • Design and edit presentations and printed exhibits in accordance with District brand guidelines.
  • Plan and write targeted communications materials, including graphics, brochures, and illustrations.
  • Assist with web design and art direction for the District website.
  • Photograph district facilities, waterways, and other subjects needed for graphics work.
  • Meet with requesting departments to develop concepts and provide technical assistance related to the design and cost of graphics projects.
  • Maintain and order graphics supplies and equipment.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a major in graphic design, marketing, or communications.
  • Considerable knowledge of the principles, materials, and techniques of the graphic arts.
  • Ability to plan and execute graphics such as charts, graphs, diagrams, maps, and other visual aids in both printed and electronic formats.
  • Ability to utilize various graphic design technologies and software packages.
