Powerline Instructor

The Northwest Iowa Community College is seeking a skilled and experienced Powerline Instructor to join our team.

We are looking for someone who can teach various aspects of powerline work, including electrical theory, transformers, safety, utility equipment operation, underground/overhead high voltage electrical systems, and line maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the field and be able to provide hands-on training to students.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Diploma/Associate of Applied Science Degree from an accredited Powerline Program or completion of a formal Journeyman Lineman Program.
• Five years related work experience in all phases of utility work, including overhead and underground construction and related activities.
• Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities in electrical theory, transformers, safety, utility equipment operation, underground/overhead high voltage electrical systems, and line maintenance.
• Holds valid CDL license or the ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
• Basic computer skills.

Estimated Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per year.
