Training to Become a Certified Nursing Assistant

Becoming a certified nursing assistant (CNA) is a rewarding career choice that offers a sense of fulfillment and job security. At NHC Lewisburg, we offer a free 10-day training program that will equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in this field.

To be eligible for the program, applicants must provide a completed application, valid photo identification, and social security card at the time of their interview. No absences or tardiness are permitted during the 10-day course, and students must maintain a grade average of 85 to continue. A deposit of $30 is required on the first day of class, which will be returned upon graduation.

In addition to the core curriculum, students will also need to purchase one set of scrubs to wear every day to class and clinical. A criminal background check and consultation with the Tennessee and/or National Abuse Registry will be conducted prior to admission. Candidates with felony convictions, certain misdemeanor charges, or those found on the abuse registry may not be admitted.

Applicants will be selected based on the healthcare center's needs, shift availability, entrance exam score, flexibility, previous work history, and attitude. Employment opportunities may be available upon successful completion of the course.
