Job Overview:

As a Registered Nurse in our Employee Health Department, you will play a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of our employees. You will apply the nursing process to address health issues, promote compliance, and collaborate with physicians, health departments, and other health and social service agencies to meet healthcare needs.

In the absence of the charge nurse, you will be delegated the accountability and responsibility to coordinate patient care delivery and oversee daily operations and throughput of the department.

You will assist the charge nurse with the flu campaign, fit testing, TB testing, and other organizational mandatory requirements as directed.

Job Requirements:
  • Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse
  • Current Ohio licensure
  • Knowledge, judgment, and skills derived from the principles of Biological, Physical, Behavioral, Social, and Nursing sciences to meet complex healthcare needs at various stages of the life cycle
  • Preferred active participation in applicable specialty professional organization
  • 3 years experience in Clinical Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, or Employee Health in Nursing Emergency Department, ICU, or strong Medical Surgical skills
Job Responsibilities:

Adhere to HIPAA privacy requirements in all forms to any party other than designated TriHealth departments responsible for the treatment of patients, accounts receivable/payable, or the operations of the occupational medicine centers.

Adhere to the TriHealth Code of Ethical Business and Professional Behavior.

Perform specialty/unit-specific skills and competencies. Interpret and execute physician orders. In the absence of the charge nurse, direct unit activities in which safe, clinically competent care is provided. Delegate care to other team members within the scope of nursing practice.

Maintain and improve current knowledge in area of practice through activities such as continuing education, formal education, professional organization membership, and conferences.

Demonstrate critical thinking skills in the decision-making process. Accept accountability for actions taken. Utilize the chain of command appropriately. Facilitate patient movement through the system to achieve desired outcomes. Maintain open communication through relaying information in a timely manner to all customers. Build collegial relationships with physicians and other members of the healthcare team.

Participate and cooperate on various TriHealth committees and teams to coordinate the health and safety needs of employees. Collaborate with disability and workers' compensation case managers to promote wellness and reduce absence.

Assist the charge nurse and lead office specialist in developing, updating, and implementing department-specific guidelines and procedures. Review schedule for next business day to ensure appropriate and any and all supplies and resources are available.
