Microalgae Technician

Cyanotech Corporation, makers of BioAstin and Hawaiian Pacifica Spirulina, is seeking a skilled Microalgae Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating manufacturing equipment to prepare algae for supplement production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely complete plant cleaning, basket loading and unloading, packing, and other tasks as required to prevent operating delays.
• Maintain the extraction areas in a clean condition during operation and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements.
• Monitor operations in close coordination with other operators, anticipating and solving problems in a timely manner and identifying opportunities to avoid recurrence.
• Perform operator preventive maintenance activities as required according to SOPs.
• Assist with diagnosing and trouble-shooting maintenance-related issues.
• Blends oil to specific titer and package.
• Operate Spirulina and Astaxanthin processing equipment.

Requirements:

• One year of work experience required. Previous experience in a production facility is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and cooperatively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Possess mechanical abilities with good attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, as well as attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes in work assignments.

Benefits:

Cyanotech Corporation offers a competitive salary range of $50,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a shift premium of $1-$2 per hour, depending on the shift worked.
