Electronics Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electronics Engineer to join our team at Leidos, a leading government contractor and one of the World's Most Ethical Companies. As a project engineer, you will be responsible for planning and designing activities to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) facility modernization projects.

About the Role

This position involves developing project plans, scopes, schedules, costs, and resource requirements, as well as creating drawings, specifications, and risk management documents in coordination with facility stakeholders. You will work closely with the FAA's Engineering Services Terminal team to apply your expertise and technical knowledge on multiple assignments.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in electronics engineering, with experience in project management and a working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and engineering scheduling tools. Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar software is also required.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct on-site surveys to develop detailed designs and reports.
  2. Create sketches showing proposed installations in existing or new facilities, with exact specifications and dimensions.
  3. Participate in construction inspections and final inspections.
  4. Collaborate with engineering staff and other personnel to resolve problems with design or implementation.
  5. Coordinate design components with multi-disciplinary teams for site-specific modifications and new construction.
  6. Prepare AutoCAD construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents, as well as independent cost estimates.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering, with 2-4 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong communication skills, with ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal form.
  • Ability to work independently in a large engineering organization.
  • Basic knowledge of multiple disciplines regarding their general requirements for typical standard types of projects.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance and pass a drug screening.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC), National Fire Protection Assoc (NFPA) standards, and National Airspace System Equipment Tower.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and general construction and electrical safety standards.
  • Understanding of NAS facilities such as ASR, ATCT, VOR, ARSR, RCAG, and NASET.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is between $67,600 and $122,200 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Leidos offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) matching.
