About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Malware Analyst, Senior to join our team at Booz Allen Hamilton. As a key member of our cybersecurity team, you will play a critical role in identifying, evaluating, and documenting malware to support our clients' systems security research and trend identification needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and analyze complex malicious code using various tools, including disassemblers, debuggers, hex editors, un-packers, virtual machines, and network sniffers.
  • Provide detailed technical reports on malware findings, including identification parameters, advanced capabilities, and mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct research on malicious software, vulnerabilities, and exploitation tactics to stay ahead of emerging threats.
  • Develop and lead the development of prototype application software or systems to demonstrate the capability or exploitation of a vulnerability.
Requirements
  • Experience with malware reverse engineering using static and dynamic analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and Mac, application behaviors, and network traffic analysis to identify malware exploits.
  • Ability to write clear and concise malware reports.
  • Ability to conduct static and dynamic analysis.
  • Ability to reverse engineer binaries of various types, including x86, x64, C, C++,.NET, and Delphi.
  • Ability to analyze shellcode, packed and obfuscated code, and the associated algorithms.
  • TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience with the reverse engineering of malware or 8+ years of experience with the reverse engineering of malware in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in setting up malware analysis lab environments with sandboxes to contain malware analysis in a controlled environment.
  • Ability to automate through the development and deployment of custom scripts, shellcode, or applications.
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • GREM Certification.
  • OSCP or CREST Certification.
