Estimated Salary:$30,000 Sign-on Bonus for a 24-month commitment, plus a housing allowance of $1,000 grossed up for up to 12 months for new hires who relocate.
Job Description:
The RN Medical/Surgical FT Night Shift position at Los Alamos Medical Center involves providing direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Responsibilities include:
- Performing plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatment.
- Documenting patient care given.
- Monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assisting patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborating as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluating learning needs of patient and/or family and providing patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Working as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- The ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
