Job Summary

The University of Miami is seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist Level I to join our team in Doral, Florida. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality laboratory services to support patient care and diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of laboratory tests, including hematology, chemistry, and microbiology, to provide accurate and reliable results.
  • Verify specimen identification and prepare specimens for testing, ensuring safe and careful handling.
  • Analyze test results and interpret abnormal or unusual findings, providing recommendations for further testing or treatment.
  • Research and prepare patient data, referring results to pathologists for evaluation and sign-out.
  • Calibrate equipment, order supplies, and maintain inventory of relevant forms and materials.
  • Recognize test inconsistencies and take corrective action, supporting laboratory coworkers in resolving similar issues.
  • Administer quality-control tests and maintain data recording.
  • Assume lead duties and act as a resource to staff, orienting and training employees on laboratory techniques and operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Certification and state license in a relevant specialty or field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
