Position Summary:
The Geriatric Nursing Assistant is responsible for delivering essential daily living support to residents under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. This role is vital in maintaining the dignity and quality of life for our elderly community members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding resident information and adhere to established policies and procedures.
  • Assist residents with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
  • Ensure residents have clean and comfortable living conditions by providing fresh linens and making beds.
  • Support proper nutrition by serving meals promptly and assisting residents with feeding as needed.
  • Carry out resident treatments as directed by the Team Leader, within the scope of nursing practice.
  • Document resident information accurately and report any changes in condition to the Team Leader.
  • Participate actively in care planning for residents.
  • Promote daily living activities in accordance with each resident's care plan.
  • Follow the Lift Free Program for resident lifts and transfers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess the following skills and qualifications:
  • Ability to lift and transfer residents weighing up to 30 pounds frequently throughout the shift.
  • Capability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn consistently during an eight-hour shift.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to perform tasks in a sequential manner.
  • Must be listed on the state registry as a Nursing Assistant within 120 days of employment.
  • A genuine motivation to work with geriatric individuals.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, to effectively communicate and follow care plans.

Physical Requirements:
Candidates must be able to:
  • Work on their feet for the duration of an eight-hour shift, performing regular duties that require bending, stooping, twisting, and turning.
  • Lift and transfer residents at least 25 times during a shift.
  • React promptly and effectively in emergency situations and manage unexpected resident behaviors.
  • Safely transfer residents in case of emergencies, such as fires or other disasters.
