Qualifications and Requirements

  • Licensure/Certifications: Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the United States
  • Residency Training: Completion of an accredited core specialty training program in general surgery
Duties and Responsibilities

The General Surgeon will be responsible for diagnosing and treating common general surgical conditions, including malignancies of the gastrointestinal tract, gallbladder, endocrine system, skin, and soft tissue. The ideal candidate will have experience and interest in vascular access, upper and lower endoscopy, and advanced laparoscopy. The surgeon will also be responsible for:

  • Providing care to patients in consultation in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Developing treatment and follow-up plans
  • Providing ongoing patient and family education throughout the course of treatment
  • Adhering to policies and procedures regarding medical documentation and performance measures
  • Mentoring and training residents and mid-levels in all aspects of their duties
