The Role
We are seeking an Operator II, Film Coating to perform operations as described by our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in our Film manufacturing Department located in Rochester, NY. You will prepare sets-up and assemble components needed for production, visually inspect components for defects, operate and troubleshoot equipment issues while strictly following all regulations and requirements including cGMP's, OSHA, FDA, and ISO regulations.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
• Using equipment for the assembly and processing tasks to produce finished products according to established specifications.
• Cleaning, Assembly, and Testing of equipment and vessels used in the film coating process.
• Adhering to all quality and safety guidelines.
• Effectively communicating verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrating a sense of urgency to complete production schedule on time.
• Accepting personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work.
• Accurately and timely completing all required reporting functions.
• Using computer-based documentation systems to find, view and print specifications and procedures.
• Disposing of scrap/rejected material in appropriate manner and according to safety regulations.
• Cleaning and assembling equipment while following safety procedures and practices and maintaining a clean orderly work environment.
• Disposing of hazardous materials appropriately, operating machinery and interacting with computer-controlled equipment and processes.
• Conducting basic quality inspection of work in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
• Participating in projects focused on process development and/or improvement, cost controls and new product manufacturing.
Requirements
Requirements include:
• A High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting of equipment.
• The ability to read and write in English.
• A minimum of 3 months experience in operations/manufacturing environment (prefer a regulated industry).
• Must have basic computer skills i.e. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics are representative of a manufacturing, laboratory, or warehouse environment and include handling of viral and bacterial hazards, potentially hazardous chemicals, as well as infectious or potentially infectious bodily fluids, tissues, and samples. Up to 75% of the time you will be standing, walking or sitting, bending and stooping for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. Manual dexterity for manipulating parts and repetitive motions are required. Flexible work hours to meet project deadlines.
Salary Transparency
The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $38,500.00 to $50,000.00. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
