Snowmaking Operations SpecialistThe Snowmaking team at Windham Mountain is responsible for the maintenance, installation, safe operation, and inspection of the snowmaking systems as well as the quality of manufactured snow. As a Snowmaking Operations Specialist, you will be part of a team that ensures the highest quality snow for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the maintenance and installation of snowmaking systems
Ensure the safe operation and inspection of snowmaking systems
Collaborate with the team to achieve high-quality snow production
Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be in good physical condition
Construction, mechanical and/or electrical aptitude, or experience
Must be comfortable working in extreme outdoor environments
Able to safely maneuver on trails
Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs
Level 1 Snowmaker Job Requirements & Responsibilities:
Entry Level position
Assist Level 2 & 3 snowmakers in field operations
Must follow all safety procedures and protocols
Actively participates in Level 1 snowmaker training in the following
Learns Trail locations and names
Learns valve locations
Learn high pressure hydrant safety practices
Uses PPE correctly
Growing comprehension of gun types
Understanding of air and water uses and practices
Learn proper hydrant hookup procedures
Learn startup and shut down procedures
Learn emergency shut down procedures
Learn how to test snow quality
Level 2 Snowmaker Job Requirements & Responsibilities:
Able to independently perform all Level 1 requirements
Minimum 1 year snowmaking experience
Actively participates in Level 1 snowmaker training in the following
Operates Vehicles and equipment safely and correctly
In-depth knowledge of various guns and components
Can fix/repair hydrants
Knows how to switch auto guns to manual
Can shutdown solo (with partner observing)
Can lead a team on production runs
Can lead a team on startup and shutdown
Can lead a team on emergency shutdowns
Gives ideas on production optimization per trail
Know the difference between base, production, and resurfacing snow products
Maximizes snow quality
Assists in level 1 snowmaker training
Knows how to safely and correctly start, stop, and adjust fan guns
Can climb ladders confidently with correct PPE
Level 3 Snowmaker Job Requirements & Responsibilities:
Able to independently perform all Level 1 & 2 requirements
Minimum 3 years snowmaking experience
Actively participates in Level 1 & 2 snowmaker training in the following
Knows and performs West & Adventure Park booster pump startup and shutdown
Can service east and west booster pump filters during operations
Can swap hoses on fan guns
Can light or shutdown any trail solo (with partner observing)
In-depth knowledge of infrastructure
Know the difference between gun operational issues and technical issues
Can correct gun operational issues
Identifies and corrects production quality issues on trails
Work Schedule and Conditions:
We are in the business of providing an Above and Beyond guest experiences. Traditionally our busy periods are during weekends and holidays which you will be expected to work.
You can also expect to be asked to work extra hours or days on occasion, especially during the holiday periods or in the event of a breakdown on one of the lifts.
