Key Responsibilities
  • Repair and maintain progressive and transfer stamping tools
  • Support production to ensure tools are ready for production
  • Make repairs and improvements on stamping dies, fixtures, weld cells, and swage machines
  • Use manual tools to repair and maintain stamping progressive and transfer dies
  • Measure and make shims to ensure proper timing of the die is maintained
  • Troubleshoot parts when quality issues arise and adjust dies to improve part condition
  • Verify work in spotting press to ensure work is correct
  • Complete predictive PMs on progressive and transfer dies
  • Work with other Journeyman Tool & Die makers to complete tasks
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Tool and Die certificate/diploma or equivalent experience required
  • 5 years Tool & Die Progressive die experience required
  • 2-5 years' experience in welding required
  • 2-5 years' experience with CAD, CNC programming a plus
  • Experience drawing & programming with MasterCam a plus
  • CNC, Machine shop, and Kaizen experience a plus

  • Ability and willingness to participate in additional training as needed

Work Environment

Our plant is a standard automotive environment with high decibel noise levels, flashing lights, and alarms/notification systems. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, safety toe shoes, hearing protection, etc. may be required in engineering, manufacturing, or industrial areas. Personal attire standards may apply.

Physical Demands

The team member is frequently required to grip tools and objects, stretch and/or reach with hands and arms; using hands to finger, handle, feel, twist, walk, twisting (standing), bend at the waist, and do repetitive motions. The team member must occasionally kneel, work from heights and crouch. The team member must frequently lift and/or move five to fifteen pounds. The team member must regularly lift twenty to thirty pounds and occasionally lift and/or move over thirty pounds with the assistance of a cart, pallet jack, other mechanical device or another team member.
