About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Music Therapist to join our Rehab Without Walls Home & Community Team in Dallas, TX.
Responsibilities:
- Perform evaluations to assess the needs of individuals receiving services and set measurable objectives in conjunction with the rehabilitation team.
- Administer direct music therapy treatment to provide habilitative and rehabilitative services.
- Plan and organize music therapeutic activities tailored to patients' needs, capabilities, and interests.
- Observe and evaluate patients' reactions to various experiences, adjusting treatment to achieve maximum results.
- Communicate patients' needs and progress to the treatment team, physician, and relevant individuals.
- Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure music therapy goals support patients' Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech goals.
- Document and report changes in patients' conditions to the clinical coordinator, PM/DCM, attending physician, and other treatment team members as necessary.
- Provide training to individuals receiving services and relevant others, analyzing and documenting the results.
- Maintain and submit evaluation, treatment, and billing documentation in the required format and timelines.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy.
- Current license as Music Therapist, if required by state of practice.
- State license as Music or Music Therapist - Board Certified (MT-BC) by the Certification Board for Music Therapy (CBMT), depending on state requirements.
- Knowledge of music therapy activities for neurologic disorders.
- Previous post-graduate work experience as a music therapist is preferred.
- Effective and professional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) or CPR certification in accordance with state regulations.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to/from multiple assignments/locations daily.
