Pediatric Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Emergency Department team. As a Magnet recognized organization, we are committed to delivering exceptional and equitable care to our patients, families, and community.
Job Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients in the emergency department, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients and their families.
- Communicate effectively with various healthcare team members, patients, and their families to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Coordinate and delegate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues to ensure efficient and effective care delivery.
- Update and manage patient records accurately and efficiently.
- Enter and interpret computerized data/information to inform patient care decisions.
- Follow established guidelines and policies to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement projects to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- 1+ years of RN experience in Pediatrics (acute or inpatient) is required; Pedi ED experience is highly preferred.
- Certification in basic life support (BLS) is required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification is required in certain units.
- Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred); ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
- Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty certification is required for certain practice areas.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Physical ability to meet job responsibilities is required.
- Basic computer proficiency is necessary.
- Fluency in another language is a plus.
