Job Title: Senior Project Architect and Design ManagerAbout the Job

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Architect and Design Manager to join our team. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will be responsible for leading projects from concept to completion, overseeing implementation documentation, managing resources, and mentoring staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead consultants and technical teams in facilitating project design and implementation document delivery.
  • Develop and manage production schedules with PIC/PM, defining and meeting deadlines.
  • Prepare, review, and coordinate implementation documents, verifying QA/QC and HKS standards.
  • Manage technical resolutions and coordination for project segments.
  • Lead code analysis and confirm code and zoning requirements.
  • Coordinate design group interaction, leading consultant team work sessions.
  • Coordinate with project managers, clients, public agencies, consultants, and contractors.
  • Prepare client presentations and present design concepts and drawings.
  • Perform product research and assist project designers with materials and systems evaluation.
  • Oversee product application and best practices.
  • Lead team meetings to discuss project issues and coordination.
  • Attend on-site visits, field reviews, and project meetings, documenting as appropriate.
  • Prepare and/or review meeting minutes for consultant coordination meetings.
  • Invest in staff professional development through mentoring, performance management, and career planning.
  • Develop, recognize, recruit, and grow diverse talent.
  • Resolve conflict and encourage a healthy team environment.
  • Promote firm's principles of 'design excellence' through responsible and sustainable design practice.
  • Understand fundamental accounting principles and project accounting process.
  • Collaborate in delivering projects on defined budget requirements.
  • Maintain accountability to project plan and planned utilization rate.
  • Understand contract and recognize additional services needed.
  • Participate in pursuit and marketing of potential projects.
  • Support PIC/PM and lead business development process by identifying new opportunities and marketing current clients.
Qualifications:
  • Accredited professional degree in Architecture.
  • Architectural Registration required.
  • Typically 8+ years of experience.
  • Sustainable design accreditation preferred.
  • Proficiency in Revit.
  • Proficiency in architectural software such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, and 3D modeling software preferred.
  • Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, and InDesign software preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of sustainability and integrated design guidelines.
  • Advanced knowledge of architectural building systems, accessibility guidelines, and QA/QC process.
  • Advanced knowledge of building codes and ability to research and incorporate into implementation documents.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Ability to maintain existing client relationships and build new client relationships.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and professional manner both verbally and in writing.
About the Role

This role offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
