About the Role

This position involves performing screening of gynecological cytology specimens and rendering an appropriate diagnosis. The successful candidate will be responsible for triaging abnormal gynecologic cases to pathologists, pre-screening non-gynecologic cytology cases for pathologist review, and participating in quality control initiatives. Additionally, this role will involve assisting others in the laboratory as needed, contributing to the education of others, and continuing own education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Completes screening and computer entry of diagnosis for gynecological and non-gynecological cases.
  • Participates in cytology department's quality assurance and quality control program.
  • Assists others in the laboratory as needed.
  • Contributes to the education of others and continues own education.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of experience above the minimum qualification.
  • Less than 1 year of experience.
  • ASCP-Cytologist (ASCP-CT) or Specialist in Cytology-ASCP (SCT) certification from ASCP.

Salary Range

The estimated salary range for this position is between $55,000 and $65,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and location.
