The Sales Associate for Retail Operations plays a crucial role in enhancing General Mills' competitive edge by focusing on maximizing additional sales and profitability.

This position is responsible for executing superior in-store selling, merchandising, and distribution strategies across a designated area.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
FIELD SELLING (70% of time)

Enhance additional sales and product displays based on in-store evaluations and engaging with key decision-makers

Achieve sales targets demonstrating exceptional sales and negotiation capabilities

Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders within the territory to address challenges and optimize sales outcomes

PROBLEM SOLVING & ANALYTICS (10% of time)

Develop essential selling skills and product expertise through hands-on field experiences

Leverage analytical insights to boost sales at the retail level

Prepare for retail engagements by collecting pertinent store, product, and market data to create impactful sales presentations for key stakeholders

EXECUTIONAL EXCELLENCE (20% of time)

Take ownership of results and possess a deep understanding of customer requirements

Comprehend General Mills products, categories, and brand priorities, linking them to retail opportunities

Convey market insights from the retail environment to management

Utilize point-of-sale materials to drive additional displays

Effectively implement retail priorities through results-oriented coverage

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must reside within a 15-mile radius of specified zip codes or be willing to relocate within 30 days of starting

Strong desire to represent General Mills and our leading consumer food brands

A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record

Relevant work experience with a High School Diploma or equivalent

Proficient in using tablets (e.g., iPad) and Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with internal and external partners

Strong problem-solving, analytical, influencing, and negotiation abilities

Ability to work independently with a high degree of autonomy

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. General Mills will not sponsor applicants for work visas.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Majority of the time will be spent in customer stores

Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 20 pounds while adhering to appropriate lifting techniques and safety protocols

Prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and some climbing of ladders at store level

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in sales, customer-facing roles, or other relevant fields

Ability to cultivate relationships with key decision-makers across an organization

Bachelor's Degree
