Overview:

The Housekeeper/Custodian II is a full-time, non-exempt role at Sunnylands, reporting directly to the Facilities Manager. This position collaborates closely with other staff members to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation across various facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive cleaning duties across the Historic Home, Visitor Center, Cottages, Retreat Pavilion, and Operations Building.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and orderly environment for all employees, retreat participants, and visitors.
  • Adhere to established cleaning protocols and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Utilize appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies to ensure health standards are consistently met.
  • Conduct routine inspections and report any maintenance needs or safety hazards to the Lead Housekeeper.
  • Manage laundry services for towels and cleaning rags.
  • Restock supplies in restrooms and kitchens as necessary.
  • Assist in the operation of the café by maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed efficiently during operational hours.

Physical Requirements:

The role requires the ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, and walking throughout the facilities.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience in housekeeping or custodial services.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques and safety procedures.
