We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Professional Engineer to join our team at Pinellas County Government. As a key member of our Utilities Department, you will be responsible for providing innovative solutions and expertise in water, sewer, and reclaimed water studies, design projects, and programs.
Key Responsibilities- Project Management: Manage and coordinate a wide range of planning, engineering, and construction projects, including the approval of designs, permits, and construction plans.
- Design and Development: Design and develop water, sewer, and reclaimed water utility plans, ensuring compliance with Pinellas County policies, ordinances, and standards.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the Maintenance Division, contract administrators, consultants, contractors, and other governmental entities to ensure effective project delivery.
- Regulatory Compliance: Review and approve designs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including permits and approvals.
- Team Leadership: Manage and supervise subordinate staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field, and a Professional Engineer license from the State of Florida, with at least 4 years of experience in utilities, construction, project management, civil engineering, electrical, environmental management, and supervisory experience.
- Skills and Knowledge: Strong knowledge of design, permitting, and construction of utility projects, as well as experience working as a Land Development Engineer or in a Regulatory Permitting Agency reviewing and approving plans.
- Personal Qualities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage conflicting priorities.
