Job Summary

Cohasset School District is seeking a skilled Food Service Worker to join our team. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals to our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals according to USDA guidelines and recipes provided by the Director of Food Services.
  • Operate kitchen equipment, including steamers, meat slicers, large kettles, ovens, and grills.
  • Assist in receiving and stocking orders, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Participate in daily cleaning and sanitizing of kitchen work areas, and assist with dishwashing duties.
  • Rotate work assignments, including food preparation, operation of the POS system, and serving of foods as necessary.
  • Maintain pleasant relationships with co-workers and communicate effectively with the team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, and lift up to 40 pounds.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least two years' experience in a similar role preferred.
  • Sanitation certification a plus.
  • Ability to obtain sanitation certification within the first year of employment.
  • Ability to complete minimum hours (6 hours per year) of professional development.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and read, write, and follow directions in English.
