CNC Machinist Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team at Control Devices LLC. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for machining components using a variety of CNC lathes and mills while following documented procedures and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, and adjust a variety of machines
  • Use precision measuring devices to ensure accuracy
  • Work from drawings with minimal instruction and supervision
  • Understand G and M Codes
  • Set and sharpen tools
  • Troubleshoot machines, set speeds, and feeds for proper materials and perform minor repairs as needed
  • Ensure the quality of parts produced

Requirements:

  • Strong math skills and ability to read blueprints, work instructions, SOP's, and other technical information in English
  • Ability to lift 35lbs. on a regular basis
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Self-directed and able to take initiative to learn new skills relating to the maintenance of the machine

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years CNC experience
  • Possess a hands-on style with strong mechanical aptitude
  • Familiarity with HAAS, Okuma, and/or MAZAK CNC machine centers
  • Experience with CNC lathes, Davenport, or ACME desired

Work Environment:

Will be exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, oils, and chemicals in a loud manufacturing environment. Will be standing on concrete the entire shift.
