Diesel Engine Mechanic Specialist Job Description:
Interstate Companies Inc is looking to fill multiple shifts with both Mid-level and Experienced Heavy Equipment Technicians for our Lincoln, Nebraska location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for repairing, maintaining diesel engines and diesel components used in various vehicles and diesel equipment.
- Accurately and efficiently diagnose complex diesel engine conditions and make necessary repairs.
- Communicate effectively with peers, foreman, and service team regarding those repairs.
- Quality control work performed to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
- Keep paperwork updated and handed in upon completion.
- Meet requirements for certifications.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid Driver's license (Bonus compensation for CDL holders)
- Good work ethic, positive attitude, and reliability.
- Excellent understanding of Detroit Diesel engines through the current GHG17 product.
- Experience with other diesel engine platforms such as Cummins, CAT, & International are a plus.
- Other mechanical skills desired but not essential: Hydraulics, Brakes & Suspension, Manual Transmissions, Drive Train and Automatic Transmissions.
