The CVOR Technologist plays a crucial role in the cardiovascular operating room, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and surgical support.

Certification Requirements
  • ACLS and BLS certifications for Registered Nurses
  • BLS certification for Technologists
Job Details
  • Position Code: CVOR Tech 742000
  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks
  • Unit: CVOR Tech (Main/West Campus)
  • Operating Suites: 6 ORs (including 1 CVOR), 1 Hybrid room
  • Daily Surgical Cases: Cardiovascular or up to 4 TAVR procedures
  • Minimum Experience Required: 1 year in open heart surgery
  • General OR backup for critical emergencies
  • Electronic Medical Records System: Cerner
Job Requirements
  • Minimum Experience: 1 year in open heart surgery
  • Required Certifications: ACLS and BLS for RNs; BLS for Technologists
  • Scrubbing duties are mandatory
Schedule Information
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • On-call duties: Up to 50% of the time from the end of the shift to the next morning
  • Call response time: 30 minutes
  • Weekend on-call: Up to 50%
Unit Specific Information
  • High volume of on-call responsibilities (up to 50%) with a 30-minute response time
  • Involvement in CVOR scrubbing and circulating procedures
  • Float to general surgery when not engaged in CVOR tasks
Additional Information
  • Access to Charge Nurse/House Supervisor as a resource
  • House Supervisor available from 6 PM to 7 AM
  • Scrubs provided by the hospital
