Job Description:
As a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), you will assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders in patients of various age groups. You will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to create individualized treatment plans that enhance communication abilities and improve quality of life for patients.
You will perform comprehensive evaluations of patients with speech, language, and swallowing disorders, develop and implement personalized therapy plans, and provide direct therapy to patients. You will also collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to ensure integrated and effective patient care.
You will educate patients and their families on speech and language disorders and provide strategies to improve communication at home. You will document evaluations, progress notes, and treatment plans in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
You will monitor and track patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary. A minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist is preferred. A valid New York State (NYS) License to practice as an SLP is required. A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program is also required. Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), with a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), is preferred.
Responsibilities:

3. Provide direct therapy to patients, focusing on improving communication skills, speech clarity, voice production, and swallowing function.
4. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to ensure integrated and effective patient care.
5. Educate patients and their families on speech and language disorders and provide strategies to improve communication at home.
6. Document evaluations, progress notes, and treatment plans in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
7. Monitor and track patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
Requirements:
Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist is preferred.
Licensure:
Valid New York State (NYS) License to practice as an SLP is required.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), with a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
