The Professional Staff Nurse is a key member of the care delivery team, responsible for providing high-quality patient care and setting the standard for the level and quality of care. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring a safe and sterile environment.
- Review patient charts to ensure all necessary consents, lab work, and special requests are completed.
- Ensure safe patient care during surgery, adhering to strict sterility and aseptic technique protocols.
- Have a minimum of 1 year of experience in the operating room, with a preference for BSN degree holders.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including maintaining positive relationships with executives, managers, physicians, and other staff members.
- Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state where the facility is located or a state covered by a licensure compact agreement.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Ability to work productively and effectively in a complex environment, handling multiple priorities and specialized equipment.
- Good clinical judgment, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients.
