Job Summary:

An experienced Registered Nurse (RN) is sought to join our team at w3r Consulting as a HEDIS Review Nurse. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting annual patient chart inspections/audits to ensure compliance with standards of patient care set forth by insurance companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Abstract medical record documentation submitted for HEDIS measures, used annually for reporting to the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).
  • Apply structured auditing criteria to medical records, follow defined procedures for saving approved documentation, and accurately enter results into the healthplans database, Quality Spectrum Hybrid Reporter (QSHR).
  • Maintain a high level of productivity with less than a 5% error rate in record abstraction and data entry.
  • Comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies, and other applicable corporate and departmental policies.
  • Ensure complete confidentiality of company-related business.
  • Communicate effectively with management regarding development within areas of assigned responsibilities and perform special projects as required.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with an unrestricted license in the state.
  • Clinical experience, with a focus on utilization review, quality assurance, and medical record audits.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, standard medical practices, formal quality improvement processes, and federal, state, and accreditation regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal skills for meeting with physicians and office staff.
  • Proficiency in PC applications, including Word and Excel.
