Compensation PackageThe compensation package for this role includes a tax-free stipend amount, which will be determined based on the specifics of the position. The pay is calculated per 12-hour shift and averages out to approximately $85,000 per year, based on a standard 48-hour workweek.
Job DescriptionThis Nurse Practitioner role is primarily focused on providing direct patient care within the Med-Surg unit, with an emphasis on assisting patients through their medical and surgical interventions. Working closely with the healthcare team, you will deliver high-quality care while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and well-being during hospital stays.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Assessment and Care Planning
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and psychological needs.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans based on patient assessment and physician orders.
- Medication Administration and Safety Protocols
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed, prioritizing patient safety and adherence to medical protocols.
- Monitor patient vital signs, lab results, and clinical progress, adjusting care plans as necessary.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Work effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare providers to coordinate care and achieve positive patient outcomes.
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the healthcare team regarding care plans and any changes in condition.
- Patient Education and Empowerment
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment options, and discharge plans.
- Provide guidance on medication management, lifestyle modifications, and follow-up care.
- Documentation and Compliance
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, progress, and outcomes in the medical record.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
