We are seeking a skilled Special Education Instructor to join our team at SPEDJobs.

Salary and Benefits

Job Responsibilities

As a Special Education Instructor, you will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs. You will provide targeted instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, adapting teaching strategies and materials as necessary.

You will collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and specialists to ensure the successful inclusion and support of students with special needs. Your responsibilities will also include monitoring and assessing student progress, adjusting instructional strategies to promote academic, social, and emotional growth.

You will maintain accurate records of student performance and actively participate in IEP meetings with parents, guardians, and the IEP team. You will create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to succeed.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have a valid teaching certification in Special Education. A Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field is required, with a Master's degree preferred.

You should have a strong understanding of special education principles and individualized instruction. Effective classroom management and behavior support skills are essential, as well as empathy, patience, and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of students with special needs.

Strong communication and collaboration skills are also required, with experience working with students with special needs being a plus.
