HCSS Driver

Job Summary:

To provide routine operation and minor maintenance of university vehicles for transporting materials or passengers.

Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, with some evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transfer patients and other assigned passengers on and/or off campus, assisting them in entering and exiting the vehicle.
• Deliver and/or retrieve materials as instructed.
• Assist in loading and unloading materials from the vehicle.
• Maintain a daily log of mileage, number of trips, passengers/cargo, destination, and fuel and oil consumption.
• Inspect the condition of assigned vehicles regularly, checking oil, fuel, tires, and water levels.
• Report any needed adjustments or repairs to supervisors.
• Adhere to internal controls established for departments.

Requirements:

High school graduate or equivalent and one year of related experience required. Completion of a defensive driver course within 30 days of hire. Must possess a current Texas Class "C" driver's license and a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

Delivery driver experience.

Working Environment:

Lift and move heavy objects. Drive vehicles under adverse weather conditions and have the ability to cope with emergency driving situations.

Compensation:

$15.00 per hour.
