Overview of the Role
As a vital member of Bridgeway, you will work under the guidance of the Community Day Services Coordinator and the Rehabilitation Services Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that vocational training opportunities are executed effectively and within set timelines. You will provide vocational instruction and life skills training to individuals with intellectual, developmental, and other disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with individuals and the Rehabilitation Team to assess abilities, needs, and preferences, facilitating the development of personalized plans.
- Deliver high-quality life skills training and rehabilitation services to participants in the Community Day Services program.
- Assist the Production Team in maintaining accurate documentation related to trainee attendance, productivity, and inventory management.
- Implement on-site job training and support in community employment settings as required.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of trainees, providing constructive feedback and adapting methods to enhance productivity and earning potential.
- Support individuals with various disabilities in making informed choices about their lives and encourage them to pursue fulfilling roles within their communities.
- Utilize strategies to help achieve personal outcomes as outlined in individualized plans, fostering cognitive, emotional, and functional development.
- Coordinate with the Production Manager to conduct necessary performance measurement studies and ensure compliance with established procedures.
- Provide rehabilitation services during periods when remunerative work is not available and assist with transportation needs for participants.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED is mandatory, along with preferred experience in working with individuals with disabilities. Candidates must be at least 21 years old and possess reliable transportation. Employment with Bridgeway is contingent upon successful completion of background checks.
