Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Ascension St Joseph Hospital in Chicago, IL. As a Radiology Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to patients, working closely with physicians to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems.

Responsibilities
  • Take radiologic films to provide quality images to physicians for diagnosis.
  • Prepare and position patients for imaging, selecting exposure factors accurately.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Observe patients during procedures and report abnormal activity.
  • Monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements as warranted.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Prevent patients from being exposed to unnecessary radiation.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS.
  • Ensure equipment is properly functioning and report potential problems or equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area, and other areas.
Requirements
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following required: Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 12 months of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Limited Radiology Technician credentialed from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) obtained within 12 months of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 months of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
