Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Unit Manager to join our team at Conagra Brands. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the 3rd Shift operation, ensuring compliance with federal and state sanitation laws, and driving continuous improvement in our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a culture of open communication and employee engagement to drive performance improvement.
  • Provide direct oversight to production supervisors and the Sanitation process, with a focus on 70% of nightly work.
  • Inspect materials, equipment, and plant facilities to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with management and production personnel to identify and resolve sanitation problems, and recommend improvements to equipment, plant layout, lighting, ventilation, and work practices.
  • Compile and report on regular inspections, sanitation violations, and corrective actions taken.
  • Support employee engagement and development to maximize safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Provide leadership for assessing and enhancing plant capabilities, including managing the Sanitation budget and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure all quality standards, specifications, and policies are met, and collaborate with Research and Development on product implementation.
  • Foster a culture of accountability in employee and product quality and safety, and collaborate with Human Resources to create employee relations processes.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience, including Sanitation.
  • Minimum 3 years in a production supervision or production management role in a plant.
  • Union experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Industrial Management, Engineering, Food Science, Management, Operations, or Biology.
  • Manufacturing experience, chemical or related USDA/FDA industry.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience required.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) capability a plus.
  • Business, analytical, and financial skills required.
