Be a driving force for improved patient care as a Healthcare Quality Specialist with the American Heart Association. We're seeking an experienced professional to implement quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing treatment of patients with cardiovascular disease in South Dakota.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for educating and motivating healthcare providers to improve their clinical processes and practices, ensuring they adhere to guidelines set by the American Heart Association.

We offer a competitive salary of $78,000, commensurate with experience, along with geographic differentials that may apply.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position, and we provide a wide range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, as well as a robust retirement program.

Responsibilities
  1. Drive implementation of quality improvement projects to enhance treatment of patients with cardiovascular disease in South Dakota.
  2. Provide consultation, direction, and support through learning cohorts to identify strategies for improving outcomes.
  3. Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and volunteers.
  4. Facilitate learning cohort meetings and local conferences in coordination with volunteers and staff partners.
  5. Develop program implementation strategies in alignment with initiative objectives.
  6. Serve as point person for ongoing resources needed by hospitals and clinics to sustain knowledge (via online education, articles, etc.).
  7. Establish sustainability plan for all components of grant in coordination with staff partners and volunteers.
  8. Develop clinical decision support tools and work collaboratively with clinicians to implement systematic efforts in improving care.
  9. Recruit program participants and work with in-hospital clinical care teams to address barriers to guideline adoption and enhance clinical workflows for improved patient outcomes.
  10. Communicate regularly with Sr. Manager to assure tasks are completed according to grant timeline.
  11. Manage project documents, including budgets, timelines, and reports on status for internal and external audiences.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  2. 2+ years of relevant experience.
  3. Experience in the post-acute clinical setting (Post Acute Stroke preferred).
  4. Experience in healthcare or in a public health-related organization: clinical, quality improvement, program development, and systems improvement.
  5. Proficiency in project management including management of budgets, timelines, activity plans and communication with team members and stakeholders.
  6. Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  7. Ability to work in a team environment and interact with all levels of American Heart Association staff, volunteers, and the public.
  8. Comprehensive Microsoft Office suite skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  9. Ability to travel up to 15% and overnight stay to South Dakota.
