Behavior Technician Job Description

Bright Light, a part of the Sevita family, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team. As a Behavior Technician, you will play a vital role in providing center-based Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) services to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and related disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with the person served, building rapport and trust.
  • Implement behavior management programs, following treatment plan goals and interventions, and seeking consultation when needed.
  • Collaborate with the family and treatment team to provide effective behavior management techniques.
  • Educate parents/guardians on reinforcement and intervention information.
  • Promote safe and socially acceptable replacement behaviors, building a repertoire of communication, social interaction, and problem-solving skills.
  • Review progress objectively, identifying solutions to barriers, and making recommendations to the supervisor and behavior analyst.
  • Accurately collect behavior data, including A-B-C, count, frequency, duration, latency, inter-response time, event, and interval-based recording.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Complete incident reports as required by agency policy and procedure.
  • Review daily updates, implement programs, and train staff on implementation.
  • Ensure proper implementation and retraining as needed, communicating with staff.
  • Schedule and prepare for leisure activities to keep persons served engaged and active.
  • Attend clinical meetings, such as access review meetings, clinical team meetings, progress conferences, etc.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • Applied Behavior Analysis experience preferred
  • RBT Credential preferred
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to establish trust and rapport quickly
  • A good listener, with the ability to empathize while providing guidance
