Vehicle Transporter Role

Penske Truck Leasing is seeking experienced individuals to fill the position of Hiker (Vehicle Transporter/Truck Driver). This role involves transporting vehicles, including box trucks up to 26', and for CDL Class A holders, tractors and trailers. The position may also assist in delivering parts and equipment to service departments.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Fully comply with all relevant federal regulations, state laws, local ordinances, OSHA, DOT, EPA, IRP, IFTA, FMSA rules, and Controlled Substances Program requirements.
  • Follow established safety procedures while driving trucks to Penske locations or customer sites.
  • Conduct vehicle checks to ensure proper functioning of mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment, reporting any issues to location managers.
  • Obtain delivery receipts or signatures as required and collect payment for services when necessary.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to vehicles.

Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of driving experience required.
  • A clean DMV motor vehicle record for the past 2 years is essential.
  • CDL Class B license is mandatory; CDL Class A is preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions is crucial.
  • Independent work ethic, customer service skills, organizational abilities, and a positive attitude are required.

  • Use hands to touch, handle, and feel items, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Lifting and/or moving objects weighing up to 50lbs/23kg regularly and up to 100lbs/45kg occasionally.

Estimated Hourly Rate: $20.00 (Class A), $19.00 (Class B), and $18.29 (Class C)
