The UCSF Health Cancer Services integrates clinical and research capabilities into a cohesive structure, ensuring strategic, operational, and financial coherence among the School of Medicine, Medical Group, and Cancer Clinical Services. This unified approach enhances decision-making efficiency and accountability, aligning efforts to achieve high-quality, cost-effective clinical services and exceptional patient experiences across the care continuum.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of five years in healthcare Decision Support or Financial Analysis.
- Thorough understanding of decision support systems, business statistics, quantitative methods, and data modeling.
- Expertise in clinical finance, financial data management, and budget formulation.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with a proven ability to lead teams and manage projects from start to finish.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration on complex projects with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical and financial information clearly.
- Advanced analytical skills with a focus on documentation and reporting, including the ability to conduct intricate queries and analyses.
- Experience working with senior management across departments, providing technical leadership in decision support.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with patient financial or hospital-level general ledger data in an acute care setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with professional and hospital billing data.
- Experience in an academic medical center.
- Knowledge of healthcare data sources.
- Intermediate to advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with EPSi or similar cost accounting systems.
