Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist Lead to join our team at HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball. As a key member of our respiratory care department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and leading our team of respiratory therapists.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all modes of respiratory therapy in patients of varying ages and medical conditions.
  • Initiate respiratory orders, contact physicians for order clarifications, and implement corrections as indicated.
  • Perform arterial blood gas sampling and ensure that results are available in the EMR.
  • Assemble and check all respiratory equipment for proper function, operation, and cleanliness.
  • Follow the process for exchanging crash carts.
  • Perform lead therapist responsibilities, including making appropriate assignments, rebuilding crash carts, and completing blood gas reports.
  • Effectively handle situations, including problem-solving, sound decision making, and communication.
Requirements
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) certification issued by the Texas Medical Board.
  • Associate Degree from an accredited respiratory program.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an RRT.
  • NICU experience required.
  • Ability to work nights and rotating weekends.
