Job Title: Registered Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Cynet Health. This is a 13-week assignment with a guaranteed 36 hours per week.

License:

Registered Nurse (RN) from an approved board of nursing

Certifications:

  • RN (PCU/Tele): Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): BLS required; ACLS preferred
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA): CNA certification required; BLS not required
Must-Have:

  • For RN: Cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV starts, blood product administration
  • For LPN: Acute care telemetry experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, wound care
  • For CNA: Acute care experience preferred
Job Description:

  • Provide care to adults with a variety of diagnoses including but not limited to CHF, ARF, hepatitis, ESLD, DM, DKA, pneumonia, sepsis, GI bleed, syncope, chest pain, pulmonary emboli, respiratory failure, COPD, arrhythmias, seizure disorders, overdose, and delirium tremors.
  • Maintain RN-to-patient ratios of 1:4 for PCU/Telemetry and 1:5 for Med/Surg.
  • Participate in team nursing with RN and LPN pairing to manage patient loads.
  • Perform required procedures such as drain/tube management, catheter insertion/management, insulin drips, continuous bladder irrigation, and chest tube maintenance.
  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills, thorough physical assessments, clinical judgment, professional bedside manner, and adaptability.
  • Collaborate with support staff including a charge nurse, phlebotomist, resource nurse, respiratory therapist, and hospitalists available 24/7.
  • Utilize Epic charting system and other medical equipment like Alaris and Omnicell.
  • Be prepared to float to other adult inpatient units as needed and in line with their capabilities.
  • Participate in 2 days of class/online orientation followed by two 12-hour shifts with a preceptor.
  • Follow a weekend rotation schedule of every other weekend or 50% weekends per 4-week schedule.
  • Work holiday shifts as required, and ensure no requested time off during specified blackout periods.
  • Ensure compliance with monthly audits for Pre/Post Pain Scoring.
