Qualifications and Educational Background
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in the aviation industry.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a quality assurance or inspection capacity, ideally within a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) setting.
  • Familiarity with FAR 145 regulations is essential.
  • Experience with AS9110 or ISO standards is highly preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent qualification is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is necessary.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Possession of an Airframe and Powerplant License or the ability to obtain a repairman's certificate with the organization.
  • Successful completion of a thorough background check is mandatory.
  • This role is safety-sensitive and adheres to Department of Transportation drug and alcohol regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and guide all personnel in the inspection, nondestructive testing, and metrology departments, ensuring all inspections are conducted accurately on completed work prior to customer release.
  • Maintain an up-to-date repository of relevant FAA specifications and Airworthiness Directives, ensuring access to current technical data approved by the Administrator for all units serviced.
  • Guarantee the proper handling and preservation of all components during the repair process.
  • Provide necessary manuals, service bulletins, and technical data to relevant teams.
  • Ensure the availability of adequate equipment, materials, and skilled personnel for quality operations.
  • Establish and maintain organized records of work orders and inspection forms for efficient retrieval.
  • Develop and implement inspection standards, methods, and procedures in compliance with FAA regulations and manufacturer specifications.
  • Ensure that no defective or unapproved parts are utilized in any components released.
  • Revise and enhance repair station policies and procedures related to inspection needs.

Additional Duties
  • Ensure thorough inspections are conducted on all completed work prior to customer release, with proper documentation.
  • Maintain accurate shift turnover procedures.
  • Supervise and train incoming inspection personnel.
  • Keep records of calibration checks for inspection tools and ensure compliance with established check periods.
  • Conduct preliminary and final inspections of all items processed.
  • Manage the return or disposal of rejected and unserviceable parts.
  • Maintain current records of supervisory and inspection personnel.
  • Control and inspect materials subject to shelf-life regularly.
  • Organize and categorize all stock and tools effectively.
