Job Summary
We are seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife to join our team at Trinity Health. The selected candidate will provide obstetric care to clients attending our patient care sites, working interdependently with the medical team to deliver high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide obstetric care, interdependently with the medical team, to clients attending any of the patient care sites supported by the Department of Obstetrics/Gynecology and dedicated to Obstetrics/Gynecology services.
- Develop and implement clinical tools to assess potential obstetric risk, in collaboration with the medical team.
- Develop care guidelines for obstetrical clients, in conjunction with the medical team, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Promote and provide childbirth and breast-feeding education to enhance the aspects of normalcy in human pregnancy.
- Provide additional care to non-midwifery obstetrical clients, interdependently with the medical team, when mutually agreed upon.
- Develop innovative programs for the care of obstetric clients, in collaboration with nursing, medical team, and administration.
- Participate in educational programs for clients, medical students, graduate trainees, midwifery students, and community.
- Promote the philosophy and education of nurse midwifery by participation in division of education programs for clients and health care providers.
- Participate in clinical or basic research, quality assurance, and surveys related to institutional operational improvement in women's health care as it relates to midwifery education and care.
- Perform all other duties and projects as assigned.
- Maintain good rapport and cooperative relationships, approaching conflict in a constructive manner.
- Provide quality patient care by considering the age-specific, developmental, and cultural needs through competent clinical practice.
Requirements
- Certified Nurse Midwife, as licensed by the American College of Nurse Midwifery and approved training programs in the United States.
- Licensed by the American College of Nurse Midwifery.
- Prefer active practice of clinical midwifery experience.
