POSITION OVERVIEW:

The role involves delivering engaging and effective learning experiences in the English language to foster students' intellectual, emotional, physical, and social development. The aim is to equip students with the necessary skills and competencies to thrive in society.

The key responsibilities, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following duties and tasks, which are not exhaustive but serve as examples of the functions performed in this position:

Uphold Keller ISD's core values and beliefs; execute responsibilities efficiently to promote high levels of student achievement. Provide support for educational programs and service delivery; communicate effectively across teams and engage in collaborative work groups. Demonstrate commitment to the District's mission; exemplify District expectations through leadership and actively support others in achieving District objectives.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Instructional Approaches

Design and execute lesson plans for in-person instruction that meet the District's curriculum standards and include documented preparation as required. Ensure lessons accommodate diverse student needs. Utilize appropriate teaching methods, resources, materials, and technology that reflect an understanding of students' learning styles and present subject matter according to Texas Education Agency guidelines, board policies, and administrative regulations. Assess student learning styles and use the findings to tailor instructional activities. Collaborate with Special Education Teachers to adapt curricula for students with special needs in accordance with Individual Education Plans (IEP). Work alongside colleagues to establish instructional goals, objectives, and methodologies as per district requirements. Supervise and assign tasks to instructional aides and volunteers, ensuring completion of duties.

Student Development and Progress

Conduct ongoing evaluations of student performance through both formal and informal assessments. Take responsibility for extracurricular activities as designated. Facilitate approved outside activities. Serve as a positive role model for students.

Classroom Management and Organization

Foster a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and supports the physical, social, and emotional growth of students. Manage student behavior in line with the Student Code of Conduct and handbook. Implement necessary precautions to safeguard students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Assist in the selection of instructional materials, including books and equipment. Maintain and organize all required reports, records, and documentation.

Communication and Collaboration

Effective communication is essential for fostering a supportive learning environment and engaging with students, parents, and colleagues.
