Pharmacy Technician

We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a hospice care setting. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and accurate dispensing of medications to patients.

• Fills prescription items, packaging medications for dispensing and delivery, meeting accuracy and productivity standards.
• Provides exceptional customer service by answering pharmacy phones and responding promptly to requests from colleagues, patients, nurses, physicians, and hospice personnel.
• Contributes to the efficient workflow of the pharmacy by maintaining a high productivity level and error-free work product.
• Maintains the orderliness of the pharmacy by keeping countertops and drug bay shelves tidy and organized.
• Enters, accesses, and verifies the accuracy of data in the pharmacy system.
• Labels products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labels.
• Participates in the periodic inventory of the pharmacy.
• May check in drugs and supplies, stock shelves, and remove out-of-date items from the inventory.
• Communicates with internal and external customers in a pleasant and professional manner.
• Assists in the training of new employees.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Ability to operate a computer and recognize and identify medications.
• Detail-oriented, goal-oriented, team player, and effective oral communicator.
• Pharmacy Technician license in good standing with the State Board (Certification is preferable).
