We're committed to delivering exceptional patient care at Ochsner Health System. As a Lab Specimen Processor, you'll play a vital role in our laboratory team, supporting the department in patient care by conducting various laboratory functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct phlebotomy procedures
  • Process and receive specimens
  • Access specimens
  • Distribute specimens
  • Perform and result specific test procedures

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, with preferred completion of a phlebotomy course. You'll also require computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of patient information, as well as effective verbal and written communication skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Moderate physical demands, including standing, walking, and sitting for prolonged periods
  • Prolonged exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue
  • Occupational risk for communicable diseases and hazardous medications
